There's some lovely parts coming together for your bass. First, the neck: The crotch Walnut top on the body is fantastic: The body halves lined up for the last time:

Phil, What wood are you using for the core? I have a short scale SC and I absolutely love it. Michael |

My mom said you wanted to see the Walnut with a swipe of acetone to get an idea of the finished appearance. Here's the top: and the back: The solvent evaporates fast, but hopeully you'll be able to see the gorgeous feather flame in the top and the tiger like flame on the back. Let me know if you need anything else. |

Hi Mica, Thank you for the photo! I can't wait to play it!!! I trust that some of the very light coloration in the wood - left of the bottom pickup - is due to the lighting? Phillip |

It's reflections from my red shirt obscuring the white wall behind me. It's also not rubbed out yet - the surface still has plenty of "orange peel" texture to it. |

Mica - I suspected reflections! That beautiful piece of wood will happily take years to know. I am so glad that particular piece of walnut waited to emerge for this instrument! Please pass along my sincere gratitude for everyone's terrific work! |
