This will actually be a 4 string. It will have side red LED's, oval inlays, and last but not least Signature electronics

I saw the wide neck blank but I did not initially pay attention to the fingerboard beside it.

This will be a unique work of art.

As I mentioned on the phone, your bass is going into routing very soon.

Next stop, carving!

"Is this flatsawn zebra?"

Yep. If it's not I'm turning in my Wood Identification Badge(tm). I'll feel shame. I may even spend two minutes in the penalty box. :-)

That's gonna be one killer Orion!

Looks like the end of the month guys according to the conversation I had with Mica today. I am getting excited but this will be the longest 24 days I have had in a while.

Hey, Danny!

Man, small world! Didn't know you were having a custom made, too! That's pretty cool. Guess the Alembic you bought from Fish ruined you, also! She's lookin' really schuweeeet! Zebrawood, LED's, Signature, excellent! She's gonna be a monster. I'm glad Uncle Rusty finally got the store back together. I was getting worried there for a while, but I think he'll be OK now with his new partner. I did take him a bunch of stuff for consignment. Mostly stuff I don't use anymore, except the Excel. Didn't want to sell it, but the way things are working out guess I'm gonna have to. But, I don't see myself using it much after another month or so ;)
Anyhoo, Big Congratzz on the New Orion (btw, how's the OLD one?) and stay in touch!
Have fun, Mike, tho

P.S.-If ya see Fish, don't say anything about my new Custom. I will enjoy hearing him tell me how much he hates me when I show it to him!! =]

Sort of a tease, since you can see much of the bass, but here's a shot of the fingerboard getting leveled:

I hope to get you one with the finish on it in the near future.

Hey, Danny,

She's lookin Great. Yer gonna have a really cool instrument! But, you're just makin' it tough on yourself, trying to figure out which one to play! Which, is not necessarily a bad thing :-)
BTW- "I hope it comes home next week". You ARE an overly optimistic young man , aren't you ;)
Good Luck, Cuz!
Have fun, TTY, Mike, tho......=]
