Some of the stuff happening in assembly with your custom bass:

Don't worry, sanded Quilted Maple always looks like a big yawn. Actually, that you can see much of anything is an indicator that when the finish is on, the figure will pop. This is a really nice top.

Sometimes I get lots of pictures, and this is one of them. Here's the body with the roundover:

Those burn marks on the edge are a good sign - choice quilt does that.

Thanks very much for sharing Mica.
I am a captive audience to whatever it is that you have to send me as my bass makes its way through your craft people. Thanks again.

Thanks very much y'all.
You all looked like you were having too much fun not to jump in and take the dive. I suspect the best is yet to come.

That looks like its gonna be a great looking bass. The small SC style body shape is my favourite.

This is another bass that I can't *wait* to see with finish on it. That top looks nuts.

Thank you for the pictures Mica. It is great to see the progress and watch the steps and detail. Really helps to appreciate the work and craftsmanship that goes into your instruments.

Great quilt. The rippling figure on the back looks fantastic. Hope the same figure's on the front. This is going to be a beauty.

I meant to post this photo for you about a week ago:
preset

And I ran across it when I was organizing the photos I took on Friday, including this new one of your bass:
preset

Still more finish needed, but you can see how great the figure on the Quilted Maple turned out.

Wow Mica. It looks really great. Thanks again for taking the time to post these pictures. Very exciting.

Still being relatively new to this experience, maybe someone can tell me what is next up in the build process... Is it close to getting the hardware mounted and anniversary electronics stuffed? Thanks again.

After the final finish coats are sprayed on it'll go to rubout and setup. That's when they'll put all those wonderful electronics in it, install the hardware, and get it ready to rock and roll. I have no idea how long that bit takes - though I wouldn't imagine terribly long. It seems like one it hits that last phase they tend to be done and ready to ship within a week or two.

Hi Darrell, thats a fantastic looking bass already. I imagine its gonna be a beauty once all the hardware and electronics are installed.

When it's finished and all paid for, I can give you the "correct" shipping address for it hahahaha.

This is just a quick snapshot:
salton_rts.jpg
The gold mother of pearl inlays don't really show up, and it's not the most flattering angle (does this hanger make my bass look fat?), but you can already tell it's a beauty.

Just need to do the final inspection, photos and packing. We're getting this all together over the next couple of days, so we're projecting Monday as the ship date.
