Hey Ian,

Here's your bass just ready for routing:

LED operation

At home now, so I hope I'm remembering correctly that your bass has both side LEDs and front Laser LEDs. 20th Anniversary electronics have no 5-pin/power supply combo, so the power is all battery supplied. Here are the common options:

a. Just have the lights come on when the bass is plugged in. The batteries that power the LEDs are completely separate from the battery for the output of the bass, so there's no danger of losing output if the LEDs go dead. You can optionally have a dimmer installed to control the front only (more typical) or both sets of lights. The dimmer does go to fully off unless you specify otherwise.

b. Install a selector switch for the LEDs. A 3-way toggle switch with [off] - [side only] - [side and front]. You can have a dimmer ont his arrangement too.

c. You can also have the side LEDs come on when you plug in the bass and just have the dimmer for the fronts.

As to which to choose? If you always want the LEDs on, skip the switch and have fewer controls. Want LED options? Then stick with the extra controls.

You also asked about the stereo cable you'll need. For the lead:

Instrument end: Tip Ring and Sleeve plug
Preamp end: 2 Tip and Sleeve plugs

The tip of the preamp jack goes to the tip of the instrument end.
The tip of the other preamp jack goes to the ring of the instrument end.
The three sleeves all ground.
Normally the tip is the bass pickup (neck) and the ring is the treble pickup (bridge).
