Here's a preview of a sweet little Essence in Lacewood that will make its debut in Australia later this month:

Nice.

Expectant parent syndrome has definitely kicked in.

They left today. I'll post some finished pics either tonight after dinner or in the morning. That Excel is especially nice

Thanks.

"Especially nice" by Alembic standards must be special.

David,

I played the Mark King & the Excel, both sounded & played great, & of course they also look really stunning. I think the folks who will come at the opening will be very impressed. Wish I could be there.

It's very likely you've already been enjoying these basses. But just in case, here's the other 2 from the shipment:

13132

Hope you like them!

Beautiful. What are the core and accent woods in the three basses?

(They are with UPS in Sydney - awaiting customs clearance - should be delivered tomorrow.)

MKMB4: Mahogany body, Maple accents
KLB5: Mahogany body, Maple accent
XLB5: Ash body, Purpleheart accent, Maple pinstripe

You'll probably wind up liking the Excel most - it's the most unlike your other basses. You should notice a marked difference in tone.
