I love it- I wasn't a big fan of the body shape when I first saw it in your photo renderings, but seeing the bass in the last set of photos has changed my mind. I love the sharp upper horns and the symmetry of the bass.

Well done!

Computer simulation models time...

The Toma_Hawk was originally black, and was smaller. The body would eventually get slightly larger, but still smaller than the Short Body.

On color, the newer "brick red" tone color, (Vermilion) has a warmer/earthly look.

My many thanks goes out to Susan, who suggested Vermilion wood (also known as Padauk).

The pickups are favorably corrected for balance and symmetry for the controls.

By the way, Mica came up with the "Arrow head" control pattern. Perfect for a bass called: Toma_Hawk!!!

Vann-Di, I truly love all the shapes that leaves the Alembic factory floors.

Maybe one day, I will have one of every shape and of different configurations.

That's why I keep my dollar in the office Lottery pool :-)

Thanks Smokinbear,

Like I said when I first seen Mica's pictures, I was literally frozen in animated suspension. The bass was too real to be true, they did it... They'd pulled it off with flying colors.

When something cool takes you away from your worldly problems for a second, and it strikes a pleasure sensory in your brain, that's a great thing. That's real.

Hey Oliver, it's even harder on me now... I can't wait to hold it... and play it until I can't help myself. That's what playing real music is all about!

Toma_Hawk Spirit #4 frequency with of The Alembic Mothership, was successful. Soul transmission to the Toma_Hawk assembly had finished...

Toma_Hawk01, had received 100% of the Green Ship's soul transfer, deep from outer space. The life forces of the Green ship created the pulse of life to the Toma_Hawk01.

Only (1) more Toma_Hawk Spirits left, before the "Body electric" Toma_Hawk can depart the Alembic Mothership, and report for duty in spreading peace and love to the world with low frequencies...

Honestly, I was hoping for a action shot...
and there it is... Cool-Cat-Cool!

The human element, depicted in Mica's photo, provides the human touch, it also provides both size, and scale of any bass.

I am one of those people when at family gatherings, people almost instinctively know I have my camera strapped, and "clicking" ready.
On moments like those, there's always someone who jokingly, and yet purposely, doge my clicks. :-)

As this bass moves toward the seasons of fall, and also the not too distant holiday's ahead, I can't help but hope Mica would take more pictures of the Toma_Hawk with the Alembic staff and family, if possible.

"It tells the story better."

Just a honest request.

Peace-

I don't like the Tomahawk shape at all, but that's OK. As long as one gets what one is looking for, that's all that matters in the end. I'm sure it will be an awesome bass for you. As it should be, I think!

Alan,

This will be an awesome bass period.

I am glad you have a bass you could feel proud that was built for you, because that would be a shame to desire something that can't be made.

And of course, there are people who don't share your same tastes and I say to them, as you would say: "WHO CARES".

Thank you for your honesty, nonetheless.

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o'er-darkened ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits.

Qui soit en tous biens parfais telle;
C'est un songe que d'y penser.
Dieu, qu'il la fait bon regarder!

Pierre,

I am happy you found your bass. That is wonderful, man! (It really is...)

As for me calling you my brother, I apologize. It was my gesture to support mutual solidarity, with good intentions as a member of this club that unites us.

Perhaps my tendency to believe too readily, and therefore to be easily deceived to think I could extent an olive branch after reading your thread from Charles d'Orleans exposes my naivete.

You are indeed relentless and holds the qualities of a very troubled human being Pierre.

These words will be my last, said to you...

I wish you peace, please do not post any more comments on my FTC.

Please respect my wishes.

Thank you.
