definitely nice top; looks even better than photo of the slab. the head is much more artistic than the cone shape , just wondering if the the top recurves are finished. it is hard to judge with out seeing the whole thing, but it almost looks like it wants a little more curve to it. not much just a little. It's wonderful to see the progress this is definitely going to shape up to be a beauty. | ||

good things take time. It is hard to express how much I would like to be playing this now but, as it is expressed in an other thread, it is Alembic's love for perfection that makes their instruments what they are, and what I want. Taylor; Thanks for asking . I spoke to Mica last week about putting a small point like on Dragon fly, and she said I should see some new pictures this week. , and it should be moving into the paint room next week. No pictures this week. maybe next. the anticipation is starting to build, I'm thinking thoughts like, I hope I nailed the woods right for the sound I wont, but I figure I did. | ||

The small point is a great idea and looks great with those neck laminations! I see the routed cavity for a center dummy pup. Just wondering, and not to spoil any confidentiality, is this going to be a Series Custom? (I or II). | ||

can't wait; my ears have been hearing eight string on at least half a dozen songs my band performs. we are gearing up for the summer season here on the CT. shoreline. This baby's going off to work and I'm sure she's going to be perfectly happy to do so. My goal was to build a rugged stage safe instrument with the sound that only Alembic can produce, and of course Alembic has taken that, much further. much Thanks Alembic; I'll play it heartily. I've not been following things for a wile, been spending time with the bass. It is anniversary electronics with a master volume ,and prep for series upgrade. Having some problems with the octave string spacings at first they were too close and would cancel out. Rather than mess around with a simple fix alembic is making a new bridge assembly to correct the problem. In the mean time I've cut a grove to the side of the original cuts making the bass playable , but just a little too wide. Aside from this correctable issue the bass is performing as I had hoped. the neck recipe has proved to be on the money the balance Of the instrument is perfect. It has proven to be far more versatile than I expected, the octave tones can be mellowed down to sound like a chunky four string or brought up to really sing bright, and ring like a bell and every thing in between. I have found that it sounds great for a far wider variety of songs than I had expected. I've used it two gigs using two separate amps but I have just put together a F2B and a Crown 602, and can't wait to hear it to it's full potential.once I get things all figured out Ill try to put together a sound clip.
