Well, it took a week longer than I thought, but we found a piece of Buckeye that is practically the spitting image of your reference piece:

assembly

It was previously slated for a short scale bass, so there's a few extra lines there. But I've added some hinting arrows in yellow so you can see the parts that will be included with your bass.

I'll post more images as interesting things happen.

Well, the bad news, is I don't have any great pictures of your bass.

The good news is that it's in spray:
spray

I keep catching it after it's been prepped for the next coat, so it's literally dull looking. See? Here's another one a couple of days later. More coats, still prep sanded:
spray

I'm sure I will get one of all nice and shiny for you soon.

Another sneak-in-to-the-spray-booth picture, but this time, it's shiny!

spray

Sorry it's partially obscured by the shadow of the bass in front of it. It's still pretty, though :-)

"pretty" doesn't even come close to describing this. What a fantastic piece of art this is turning into.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Hope you like attention, because (and I speak from experience here) every time you take that buckeye masterpiece out of the case it's going to draw a crowd :-)

Over the top beautiful, John. And what Todd said, too. That bass is going to draw attention like a magnet draws iron filings.
