These may look a little distorted, I caught these still wet in the spray booth and couldn't move them to a better angle to gapture the image:

It's lookin' great. The Edwin model is a little behind this one, took a while to locate those old fixtures.

Is that maple body with a mahogony, maple, ebony neck? Is the top vermillion? It really looks interesting, very pretty really.

The body is Ash with a Vermilion top. The neck has a Mahogany outside pair with Maple and Walnut for the center pack. There's no accent laminate. Adam always comes up with interesting wood combinations, he's also te owner of the Bat Bass.

Thanks Bill! I am pretty excited about this one. Not just because of the wood combination, but also because it will be my first Alembic with Series I electronics...

Adam: I'd love to hear what those neck woods will sound like. Especially with the range the S1 electronics will give you. I'd like to have a predominently mahogony necked Alembic at some point (as well as an ebony lammed 5 string and several others!). Neat selection for your bass though. I'm sure it'll sound great. It already looks that way.

Yeah, it's almost done, hurray!

waiting

Just got all the guts installed and now it's in the somewhat long line of basses ready for my dad's upgrading. I'm expecting to be shipping it before the end of the month, will certainly let you know when it's leaving here.

Hey Adam, Your bass is just such a nice, classic take on the Distillate shape. Also, welcome to the cadre of those of us waiting for Ron to upgrade our electronics!

Keep us posted after you receive your bass (pictures, pictures, pictures!).

Congratulations

Wow, that's a great bass! You must be over the moon after seeing that last picture. I really love the neck laminates, and I also prefer the understated look of a contrasting body and top wood without an accent laminate. You'll love the Series I electronics!

Wow!!! Would I be right in thinking that this is the old Distillate shape?

How much would something like that cost? It's got me thinking.

Regards, Andy.
