Nick, Harry, and Wolf all came by last night. Harry brought his double-neck beast, and Nick brought his beautiful old Series II and a surprise he brought back with him from his visit that day to the mothership - the Oceanburst Skylark that had been hanging in the showroom! What a gorgeous guitar. And it sounded great plugged into my 1966 Bandmaster! We jammed for a couple of hours. Man, can those guys play! And multi-instrumentalists to boot! Harry and Wolf took turns on drums while Harry and Nick each took the Skylark for a spin. I played Woody, my Ferlembic, and Old #10. My wife, who is no pushover, told me we sounded great, like we had been playing together for years. It really was a blast. Pictures were taken and I suspect they'll be posted shortly.

A Jerry Christmas, a Hempy Hanukkah. and a Crazy Kwanza to everyone! (And a Freaky Festivus for the rest of us!)

Bill, tgo

I had fun and got to play the drums . It was great to meet Nick and enjoyed hearing his fine intonation on Harry's unlined fretless neck on his swell Alembic double neck. I got to play Nick's AC 405 Series II short scale and I really have to say that is an AWSOME BASS ! . I really enjoyed playing that instrument Nick! Thanks ____ It's always fun to jam with Bill , the music flows with him and Harry can always follow his natural musical intuition and sound great.. Thanks to Bill for hosting , it was a nice way to top off my day.

Last night was a lot of fun! Special thanks to Bill for hosting and to Nick for making the trip and bringing the Series II. Was glad that Wolf made it too.

Here's the picture that I HAD to take - I've been trying to get a shot of Bill's 12 string and my doubleneck at the past two gatherings and it never happened - now we have another knobby added to the fold!

:-)

Here's a shot of Nick playing my doubleneck - I like how you can see the backs of the necks in the mirror:

And here is Nick playing his beautiful '76 Series II (I think I got the details right):

I have never put my hands on a strat that felt so good! Pic's and movies I took will have to wait till I get home. The cable to load into the computer is at home

This mini-gathering was a lot of fun! I thought I would put up a couple more pictures while we wait for Nick to get home!

Wolf is a great bassist, but I didn't get any pics of him playing - I was playing drums while he was playing Nick's bass. So here's a shot of Wolf playing drums with Nick on bass:

And here's a close-up of Nick's Series II headstock - very interesting logo, especially considering that it's a '76:

That's my Phil Jones Bass Suitcase - I think it availed itself quite nicely - and Bill's blue box that he lent us - thanks Bill!

Couldn't help but notice the picture on the back wall. Looks like a variation of the Blues for Allah album cover.

And yes, that peghead is very cool!

Good eye Dave. It's a "Blues for Allah" promo from a Pasadena music store that I've had since the album came out in the 70's.

Bill's place is a heads paradise. The art, the guitars, the ah atmosphere. Fantastic! So, here are some pic's. I am going to start a knobby head thread, and put more pic's in it. But here are a few to get started!

Cool! In that first shot, it looks like I'm playing a Theremin or some weird electric upright, but it's Bill's Bose speaker thing behind me...
