Off course, sorry about that. I was just to excite to get the DVD!! I use to have the same kind of speakers that you have on the video. You can clearly hear the Alembic sound. Great cover band! I think that the bass player is the King in that group! J-O-S |

We played a 'last minute notice' gig this sunday gone (easter) at The Lounge in Bathgate. Didnt find out about it until saturday afternoon so I had to cut short my trip down to the folks. The pub wasn't that busy but the 20 or so punters seemed to enjoy themselves, no doubt fuelled by the local ales. I unveiled my newish cabinet, a used GK 210 BLX that I've upgraded with a pair of Eminence Delta 300 watt drivers (in an attempt to see how much better the proposed Mesa upgrade will be) and I have to say I was really pleased with the extra punch they gave over the Neo 212 I replaced it with. - I still used one neo 212 for the deep lows. We're quite busy just now for a part time band... Friday 13th April @ 9pm, Whistlebinkies Edinburgh. Saturday 21st April @ 9pm, the Waverley Callander. Saturday 28th April @ 9pm, Brightons Inn, Polmont . All in Scotland. After that, it's back to the wedding circuit big time till July when we play a Bikers rally in Kelso. Where you put to choose... (and sorry for the possible hijack here) between Eminence Deltas and Eminence Deltalites... would you (or anyone here) say there IS a BIG difference in sound and performance? I am thinking deep into swapping the firsts for the seconds, in a desperate attempt for stopping arriving home late at night with back pains, I am even thinking on replacing the 12" within my GK MB200 combo I use for smaller gigs... |

Sorry Juan Carlos, I haven't tried the Deltalites so I can't comment on how they compare to the Deltas. I do have a Neo 410 that I've been trying to sell so I may try two of the drivers from that in the GK cabinet to see how they sound but that won't be for a while (maybe never) as a friend has borrowed that cabinet to try out and may eventually buy it. If I could find one nearby, I would like to try out the EBS NEO 210 as it would match my 212s but those cabinets are as rare as hens teeth over here. To be honest, I am having second thoughts over the Mesa cabs. This GK 210 box feels very heavy at 57Lbs and the mesa equivalent is a full 10lbs heavier! Shame they sound so good. Graeme |

Forgot to say, My advice would be to try as many options as you can then decide how much of a compromise you can live with. I love having light cabs but I'm not sure how much longer the drivers will last and the GK cab with the Deltas sounds so much better than any other cabinet I've used. Graeme |

Came across this footage from us setting up for last year's young farmers ball at Edinburgh's corn exchange. No music but some Alembic content :-) I didn't realise this was on youchoob! I was in a mild panic as my 4x10 had developed a very annoying rattle. Tracked down later to a couple of mildly blown drivers. Graeme |

Thanks Flip. That rig comprised an EBS neo 212, EBS neo 410, Fender TBP-1 pre-amp, QSC PLX 2402 power amp and Korg DTR2000 tuner. I was running full range into both cabinets. After the 410 let me down I started using a pair of 212s but split the signal to put the high end through the top cab and the low end through the other as I was having trouble hearing anything above the 7th fret on the D and G strings. That worked ok for a while but I've decided I want to move back to normal drivers instead of NEOs so I'm trying out a few options. Last week I used one of the 212s and replaced the other with a GK 210 cabinet that I've loaded with a pair of Eminence Deltas - that sounded really nice. If you've seen my other thread you'll see I'm looking at the Mesa powerhouse range and I'm pretty sure I'll be going for the 212 / 210 combination. Graeme |

Here's a pic of my current rig as described in the last post. This was taken at last night's gig at the waverley. Not much room so I was backed right up into the corner. As a result there was too much bottom end - the guitars could have been quieter too - so overall the sound was a bit mushy. Graeme |

That rig sounded Phat jan-olof but it struggled to reproduce the upper register without sounding harsh - the Fender pre-amp is great for that James Jameson sound ;-) Next pic after this weekend will show my new Mesa Boogie Titan V12 amp instead which sounds superb over the whole range although I'm still hoping to replace the speakers with the Mesa Boogie equivalents after the summer. Strings are DR NEONs and to be honest I'm a bit disappointed with the coating. According to the DR website these are their most robust coatings ever but the orange started to flake from the picking area after one gig. the Yellow is my fretless so it doesn't get worked as hard but the coating is still flaking from those too. The strings themselves sound great but I think I'll be going back to Black Beauties and Red Devils this summer. graeme p.s. I like the Ampeg video you posted on facebook. When will we get an English language version? |

Here's an arty photo taken at Sunday night's Whistlebinkies gig... you can just see my newish Eden 210 combo in the background. Perfect for small venues that have a decent PA. graeme |

Two more weddings to play this weekend. Saturday's in glasgow, Sunday's near Edinburgh. This'll be the first chance to really try out my new Mesa rig... After this we're back into the pub circuit for a few months with the odd festival thrown in for good measure. Graeme |

This Saturday we'll play our biggest gig of the year when we Headline the british motorcyclist federation summer festival in Kelso in the scottish Borders. We're expecting a couple of thousand drunk Harley riders so it should be fun. Sunday the 15th July we'll be back in Whistlebinkies in Edinburgh and Saturday 21st July we're at Behind the Wall in falkirk. Both are great venues for live music and the crowds are usually very enthusiastic. graeme |

Tomorrow night (sat 21st) we'll be playing at 'Behind the Wall' in Falkirk. Sadly my Mesa Titan v12 head is still in Petaluma getting a fix but the new powerhouse cabs will get a good workout. They like it LOUD in central Scotland. graeme |

The Titan has returned! and just in time for a very busy couple of weeks for us.. Friday 17th we're playing a stag do at a local rugby club. it'll be an odd gig for us with no ladies up dancing. Saturday 18th we play Finnegan's Wake in Edinburgh. as it's festival time they have a late licence so we'll be playing 11pm till 2am. Wednesday 22nd we're back in Whistlebinkies playing the 10pm slot. Saturday 25th we head up to Inverness to play at a gay 'wedding'. First song is the Blues Brothers 'Everybody needs somebody'. Quite apt. Thursday 30th - whistlebinkies again Saturday 8th September we have a wedding gig in Edinburgh. The following saturday I fly to New York to start my 3 week tour of the east and west coasts. Can hardly wait :-) Graeme |

Here's hoping the amp is fully sorted. Have fun at the gigs, and a safe flight to America. (I love the name Whistlebinkies) Mike |

Thanks Mike. The Titan stood up to to two solid gigs playing around 3 hours each night so I think I can safely say it's now sorted. I'm loving the versatility of this amp - two footswitchable channels with one set up to be mellow for most songs and the other set with more gain, mid and treble for a bit more aggression for 'punkier' numbers. Plus each channel has it's own overdrive and there's an extra 'solo' button to give as much volume boost as I need to cut through the wall of guitar noise. It's certainly the 'swiss army knife' of Bass amps. I still take an emergency head to gigs but it's an Ashdown little giant which is very light and can be carried around in a laptop bag it's so small. The tone is nothing to write home about though. Friday we play at O'connels bar in Kirkcaldy 10pm till 1am. We played here a few years ago when it was called bar One and they had us at 5pm on a sunday. It's a pretty big bar and there was us plus the bar staff. No one ventured in from outside. hopefully friday night will be a bit more lively. Graeme |

Followng a couple of weeks of wedding gigs we'll be back in the pubs from now till Christmas. This saturday is Finnegan's Wake in Edinburgh from 10pm. It's a really lively bar with and Irish theme that we try not to carry into the music. Graeme |

Tonight at 10pm we'll be rocking out at O'Connels bar in Kirkcaldy where we get shoved in a pokey little corner in complete contrast to last night's Status Quo gig in Glasgow. (they get a huge stage and a bunch of roadies to shift gear. Life's just not fair). Graeme p.s. I reckon 'Rhino' edwards must have the easiest Bass plying gig on the planet :-) |

Too full this time Bill. It's a small stage so my rig has to sit off the side, right next to the corridor to the beer garden (smoking area) and we have (the 2 guitarists and myself) to stand off the front of the stage on what becomes the dancefloor. As a result, there were folk trying to leave their drinks on top of my amp, people standing in front of my rig or bumping into me and one cheeky sod even tried to use my guitar stand as a coat hanger! The last set was pretty traumatic and I had to get the bouncer to control a few of the more boisterous drunks. Not somewhere I relish going back to but we went down really well so I suspect we'll get more bookings next year :-( First time I've not wanted to play a gig!! Graeme |

Last gig of 2012 tomorrow night at Falkirk's 'Behind the Wall'. a great venue with a decent PA system and lights! should be jumping. Next year we might be travelling to Dubai in April to play a 1 1/2 hour gig. WILD! Graeme |
