I've just confirmed a booking for my band to play at a Jamaican 50th Anniversary Independence festival in Birmingham, England on 02/08/2012, from 20:25 to 21:00

We will be doing a Jazzy set.
It coincides with the 2012 Olympic games and both the Jamaican and American Olympic athletes will be present at the 4 day event in Victoria Square Birmingham City Centre.

I've been told that the bands on stage will be streamed live to Jamaica and the USA. So if you want to catch the set you can get it at the following web site.

Jazzyvee:

You'll be playing February 8, 2012? Is Billy Pilgrim playing drums?

Hello Bill:

In the UK we still use the correct date format such that 02/08/2012 = 2nd, August 2012.

:-O

It's still a work in progress to be honest as my timing is not consistent enough at the moment for me to say I've got it. There are differences between my three europas such as string spacing and neck pickup placement that requires a different hand position and thumbing technique for each bass.

But it's only something I use on Marcus miller tracks so not used as a primary technique. But fun to do.
