Peter, Thank you for posting this. What an enjoyable way for me to spend two hours on a weekend. Sketchy Black Dog is a fantastic band playing many different styles on each song. Great extended jams, wandering in and out of jazz, classical, pop/rock, etc. The one starting at 1 hour and 3 minutes especially speaks to me. Peter, your tone is wonderful. Do you record direct, through a miked amp, both? I love your playing; the melodic style, chording/phrasing, harmonics, soloing, the whole thing. If anyone wants to see a great show with great musicians, set aside some time and watch this whole video. Rich |

Thx Rich for ur warm words, makes me happy , this session was recorded through a simple line out from the amp, which was a tc electronic ( not that great sound on stage but maybe for recording). I actually have no idea about this recording in general because it was done by some russian guys, they did a lifestream into the internet that day and recoreded it. Usually i play an ampeg or 2 marshall amps (those only on big stages with stereo signal into a 4x10 & a 18 speaker cabinet), greetings from Berlin,PS: u can google "sketchy black dog" at youtube, there are lots of vids with us, also i put some other vids here in the "Gigs", Peter |

Hey Rusty. You have been having a conversation over in the "Jimmy J" section about LA's "Baked Potato". Here's a link to a video of Sketchy Black Dog (with Peter/Captain K, of course) playing there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBvoOyiXfrk Rich P.S. Peter, is Misha from the US? His accent sound like American English. |

Rich; his bio states that he was born in Moscow and immigrated to the US at age eight. |

that´s correct, Dave; but he speeks both languages perfectly, Misha´s grand uncle is the world famous cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, who had a trio together with Vladimir Horowitz and Nathan Milstein. He married a daughter from the Rothschild dynastie. They have many artists in the family, Misha´s mother is a fantastic painter in the tradition of russian style combined with modern elements. Who is interested in some more music me playing with Misha, in my dropbox are a couple of files :Aya, MPT (Misha Piatigorsky Trio), on all of them i play upright bass. All the other files are recordings with different bands and a lot of studio recordings for various artists. login: klinkepeter@freenet.de password: maulwurf , enjoy it! |
