Playing anyplace special this weekend? I'd be interested to hear where and any other particulars. (I'm at home in the den studio). Be safe! Play well!

This weekend - 30th, Big Tuna will be playing the Foresthill Arms in Auchtermuchty, Scotland. Yes there really are places with unpronounceable names over here, and yes it is just as god-forsaken as it sounds.

Thanks for the info Graeme! Hope it went well. We have some pretty odd sounding places where I live, as well, "Potneck, Tennessee" and "Can't Find It, Tenn." Maybe I'll get to visit your country someday. (If you check my last name you'll probably find it quite familiar to 'your neck of the woods."

I'll be at State Bridge in Bond, CO on Saturday night. Pretty cool little venue with an outdoor stage and an indoor late night stage (where I will be).

No Borders Blues Band is at Rudy's Jazz and Blues Club in Merced, CA tonight . It's a welcome party for the faculty and staff of the brand new University of California, Merced campus. It'll be fun to be part of the early history of this new UC campus. I'll be there with my Rogue 5.

Paul,
Sounds like a good thing for the area as folks won't have to drive to Turlock anymore. My wife had to drive up to Stanislaus State to take classes when we lived in Los Banos. Merced would have been much better. So how big is the new school? Where in Merced?

David
Lotta people, lotta dancers, hysterically fun!

The school is embryonic, with only 3 or 4 buildings. It's just NE of Merced, only a 1 hr. drive to Yosemite valley. I think there will be some rock climbers in the student population. First classes start soon!

Looks like this weekend I'm playing my old upright with some Bluegrass pickers from the Nashville area -- including a hot banjo gal' -- at a local venue. This will be some fun!

Best of luck Bruce, always wondered how folks juggled more than one band, now I know;-)

The Big tuna are at the Crown in Kingskettle again on Saturday. Hope the crowd are a bit better behaved than the (drunk) young lady that tried to rape our rhythm guitarist last night.

I did not realize that guitarists could be raped... they're always willing! Aren't they?

I think it all depends upon the guitarist. Had a similar incident happen to a lead guitarist in an old band. The catch is his wife always came to the gigs. She wasn't to happy about another woman sizing up (literally with her hands) her husband.

I will say it was rather comical seeing the guy try to back away without hurting his personals.
