Will be debuting our new horn section (trumpet, tenor and alto saxamaphones) this Thursday, at The Lions' Den, 214 Sullivan, btw Bleecker and W. 3rd., 10 pm. These kids are good, and it's done a lot for our overall sound (based on two rehearsals, anyway).

Yes, I know, it's potentially game 7 for the New York Metropolitans, and I'm not too happy about it. Got to go to games 1 & 2, big fan, and there ain't even a TV in the bar! Anyway, we gotta believe John Maine can get the Amazins past Carpenter tonight.

In other news, we've landed a gig at Arlene's Grocery, one of the more prestigious venues in NYC (95 Stanton btw. Ludlow and Orchard), on Wednesday, November 15th. 10.30 pm, I think.

Now, I understand that for clubs to maintain their status as top venues for rock this sort of thing may be justifiable, but man, it's a bit draconian (see below). We draw well, so no real worry, but I mean, what if the subway shut down, or there's a hurricane? 29 people come, spend 20-30 bucks apiece on drinks and you get nothing? Yer screwed, and good luck getting a gig there in the near future.

So, save the date, come check it out, I'll buy you a beer, with my one(!) drink ticket. Heck, I'll set you up with the singers. And gimme back that drink ticket.

Also, our new site is up, www.ilikeorange.com. There's some older recordings there that are ok. And we have a myspace.com/ilikeorangeband too. And no, I haven't used the login to go trolling for college girls.

Here's an excerpt from the email from Arlene's:

If I Like Orange brings 30 or more people the club takes first
>>$80 (10 People) and then the artist gets 80% after that.
>>
>>- If I Like Orange brings less than 30 people the club keeps 100%
>>
>> ATTENTION: Bands are paid at the END OF THE NIGHT, not directly
>>after their show as in the past.
>>
>>We expect at least 30 through the door, which means each band
>>member is responsible for a certain amount of folks to pay. This
>>will ensure a re-booking.
>>
>>- One drink ticket per band member
