Dallas, July 6. Olie, myself, some family and friends went to see fellow club member Adam, “2400wattman”, and his band ZoSo. Other than the absence of nostalgic mystique you’d expect with seeing the original members, you’re missing nothing else. It’s obvious that great care is taken with reproducing Zeppelin’s sound and performance. You could close your eyes and easily flashback into a headphone daze, but don’t: ZoSo is fun to watch. It’s as close as you can get to the real thing. Personally, it was a “best of” show, all of my favorites and none of my least; a very happy coincidence. Some of my favorites from the show: Celebration Day, The Wanton Song, The Song Remains the Same, Nobody’s Fault, The Immigrant Song and No Quarter. Plenty of others packed into two solid hours. Aside from being a monster bassist (broken string and all!), Adam doubles on keys ala JPJ. His solo during ‘No Quarter” is eye-popping, this cat can play. Mighty happy feet on the bass pedals, too. Prior to the show, Adam took the time to seek out us out. He’s very warm and personable. Adam, it was a pleasure to meet you and see you next time. Any chance of adding Trampled Under Foot and Achilles Last Stand to the set? My brother remarked, “Now, that’s a rock and roll show.” Well worth your time, ZoSo tour dates. peace, love and bell bottoms, Mike |

Very well put Mike. I wasn't sure how much of the show you'd remember after all those O-douls we were slammin'. LOL The only thing missing this time around was Adams Series bass and his Mandolin. They did my daughters favorite tune too, "What is and What Should Never Be", and did it very well I maight add too. If Zoso comes through your town you really need to check them out. Very polished tight band. Olie |

Mandolin, too? Geez, now I'm relly impressed. And if he's gonna unleash the Series then they've got to do Achilles Last Stand. O-Doul's: makes you wonder if the flavor of beer is worth it without the buzz? |

Thanks for the Zoso review! The videos I've seen all seem to have Adam on keyboards; I've yet to see one that features him on bass. |

Sounds like a great show. if I'm ever solvent enough to travel to the US I'll be sure to look them up. As for Achilles last stand, Adam'll have to get an 8 string to do it justice ;-) Graeme |

Wow guys, thanks for the postive review. We've not yet begun any rehearsals for Achilles, as it is quite a repetitive riff which we fear we'll lose the audience on. It's a great song with a nice blend of melody and muscle, so maybe a medley of some sorts. As for the 8 string, the Feb. '02 COTM would surely fit the bill especially when Paul put it up for sale. I did try to find a way of getting in to it, to no avail. Again, thank you and take care. |
