Hi all!
We'll be in northern California this week. I am hoping to pick up my Series I from Santa Rosa, but I don't think it will be ready, so I don't think I'll be playing an Alembic, but I will have my Phil inspired Starfire. The dates are:

12/5/07 - Don Quixote's - Felton, CA w/ special guest Barry Sless
(David Nelson Band, Phil and Friends) sitting in on pedal steel

12/6/07 - Connecticut Yankee - San Francisco, CA w/ Barry Sless -
special KPIG radio show taping

12/7/07 - The Red Fox Tavern - Eureka, CA w/ Barry Sless

12/8/07 - The Emerald Cup - Area 101 - Laytonville, CA w/ Barry Sless

12/9/07 - Crystal Bay Casino - Red Room - Crystal Bay, NV (tahoe)

and back in Colorado:

12/15/07- The Oriental Theater - Denver, CO w/ Honkytonk Homeslice
electric style, special three set show

If you come, please do say hello!

Edwin:

Shoot, you would pick tonight to be in S.F. I just got back from a week in Key West and have rehearsal with my own band tonight. I bet it's fun playing with Barry Sless. I've seeen him a few times with P&F. A great player. Have a fun gig and let us know when you're coming around again.

That's too bad. I was really hoping to meet you! Barry is awesome to play with. Last night's gig in Felton was great. He really fit in. I've been multitracking these gigs and monitoring through Logic Pro on my laptop through in ears and with Barry on steel on one side of my in ears and our guitarist, Jefferson Hamer on the other, it was a guitar treat all night long! Those guys really can play! Who knows what special guests will show up tonight. Last night we had a fiddle player named Tojo and Jim Lewin on guitar.

Edwin:

I just checked out the Connecticut Yankee website and see that you don't start until 10:00 p.m. That's the time my rehearsal finishes in Oakland. I just cleared it with senior management to swing by for a bit after my rehearsal. I have no idea how big the venue is or whether it will sell out. Is there a chance you could put me on the list? Also, as I'll be coming straight from rehearsal, I'll have Woody with me (October COTM) - ain't no way I'm leaving my Alembic in the car - so you can check it out in person, if you'd like.

Went to see Edwin's band after my rehearsal last night. BIG FUN! Two guitars (acoustic and a thin line semi-hollow Tele), keys, pedal steel, drums, and Edwin playing his highly modded Guild Starfire bass. Country Rock with just the right twinge of psychedelia mixed in. Excellent harmony vocals with four of the six contributing vocals. Edwin is my kind of bass player. Though a lot of the material could easily be supported by the standard country 1 - 4 - 1 - 4, (and Edwin provided such when called for), he also has a Leshian streak that makes for far more intersting lines. A style I've always described as "lead bass". The proficient practice of this style involves the combination of lead while still holding down the bottom rythmically. Edwin does a great job of this and his Dark Star equipped Starfire sounded very present and organic. A very enjoyable night out. Joe Bob sez if they're coming to your town, Check 'Em Out!

Thanks Bill!! I've listened to some of Edwin's stuff in other bands, and I love his playing.
