Welcome back! Hard to believe this is the third gathering in eleven months.

Short preamble. 16 Alembics, 6 bassists, one drummer and one guitar. David Tichenor made it down from Oklahoma City for the second time. And joining us for the first time, Michael Delacerda, dela217, drove all the way from New Orleans. The usual DFW core was comprised of John Terry, Olie Oliver, Wayne McClemore and myself. Pete Foskett returned as our honorary drummer. David Seaton was gracious enough to supply the higher frequency end. I think he'd return if invited.

As additional pictures are posted you'll get a better idea as to how the day unfolded.

The following pics are from Wayne.

A different Tale of Two Cities. Michael with David's '76 Series 1 and David with Michael's graphite-necked SS Series 2. Peeking from behind Michael, left to right, a four string 20th Anniversary, the "Unicorn" and a five string Anniversary.

Michael with Wayne's fretless five string Series.

Olie holding Michael's Alembic #16. Aside from the historical aspect, #16 is absolutely gorgeous. To the left are Michael's graphite Alembic, John's Exploiter and Wayne's fretless fiver.

More talking than playing and all of it good. Hopefully there will be more to look at soon. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

looking forward to the next one,
Mike

From Dave Seaton, our guest guitar player.

The brown beauty in the middle-front is John's ebay rescue from last summer.

l-r. Dave Seaton, John, Michael, Olie, Mike, David, Wayne, Pete. Dave and Pete proudly display their disclaimers. I don't think we're that bad of a bunch?

That's too funny, we were all smiles until the group photo then........let me put on my "bad" face. LOL
I love the picture of me and "the ol' man" above. Micahel that is one sweet bass.

The group photo can look kind of intimidating. Let's see Michael (third from left) is what... abut 5'11" correct?......... I wouldn't mess with us.:-)

Olie, isn't "Don't mess with Texas" the official state slogan?

Yes it is Sam, that's the anti-littering slogan for Texas. (Hmmm there's a joke there somewhere when applied to our photo).

Thanks Olie, I didn't realize it was an anti litter slogan. I thought it was a general slogan.
I've seen it on any type of merchandise you can think of.

I always thought it was a warning:

Don't mess with Texas, you might catch something!

like

Don't mess with those plague samples!

BTW-

That first picture of David and Michael is great! The SS bass looks like a ukulele, and reminds me of myself with my Epic.

What a great collection!

Interesting that there seem to be more blondes than dark (top woods). I wonder if this is also true for the average of Alembic instruments in general? I always thought it to be the other way round.

H -

I noticed the same thing, particularly since my 3 are walnut, vermillion and coca bolo - clearly I need to buy a nice maple Alembic!

I can hear the conversation now . . . but honey, all the other guys have maple Alembics :-)

John, I tried that angle with my wife:

"but Honey it's a short scale"

Good luck John
