Hey Everyone. :-)

The 'Rumble Report'. :-)

I showed up about 1pm, opened up the building, off loaded, set up, sound checked and commenced playing about 2'ish. It was the first time I've run my bass 'at volume' with no backline in a non-home environment through my system since I've started putting it together. A Yamaha 5016CF 500 watts a side mixer, a pair EV JX-1's and my Epifani UL 500 single 12 combo as a 'mock sub'. I'm very pleased with the results. For a soloist I sure move a lot of gear, but it's sure worth it! What a great sound! :-)

I received my six string from the Mothership on Friday so, with my five string there are two Alembic's in-house. :-)

I'm kinda 'fuzzy' about the order and arrival times of everyone ;) but all told we had four Alembic owners and seven Alembic instruments attend the Rumble. Myself, Gary (svlilioukalani), Elwoodblue (Chris), Bradley (byoung) and his son and daughter and later on my husband made a 'special guest appearance' for a total of seven attending. :-) Very Cool. :-)

I don't remember when it was exactly that Gary showed up, sometime around 2:30/3:00? Something like that. :-) He brought his two Epics, one procured from Bradley and one from Bass Northwest. At this point we have four Alembics in house. :-)

Sometime around 4:00/4:30? Bradley and his son and daughter shows up and we're now up to five Alembics. :-)

At 4:30/5:00ish Chris shows up with his two Alembics and a high 'mojo' Mesa head. :-)

I'll let everyone fill in the details of the 'particulars' of the Rumble. For myself it was again the magic of the camaraderie of the shared passion for Alembic instruments, the connection of the personal relationships between we individual artists with the Alembic company and Wickersham family overall and mostly how good it felt to meet and spend some time with other Alembic enthuisiasts and make some music on a beautiful summer day on Bainbridge Island, Washington, Pacific Northwest, USA, North America, Earth. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly <---Happy girl. :-)

YEP, sure was nice;
the air was sweet with blackberries, one plus to summer on the island.
I wish I had arrived a little earlier...it was a busy day...so busy I left forgetting my camera,
darg nabbit.

So there is next time...until then I'll be making herb tea in my Alembic Cup...thanks to the folks at Alembic and Kimberly.Everything they do has taste (unavoidable pun, er...punavoidable :-) )

It's nice to put a face with a name...I enjoyed it!

Hi Guys. :-)

David said, "I won't believe it 'til I see the photographic evidence."

Uh oh...ummm...well, you see it's like this. :-)

So, there I was setting up. The PA's up and running and sounding sweet running a loop off of my looper. I get as far as setting up the tripod for the video cam in the back of the room as I listened to the groove. The Tascam recorder is sitting on a chair. Mic's are still in the 'box', mic stands are standing and the video cam's still in the bag. Then, it happens. The recorder has it's power chord thrown with 'careless and wild abandon' onto it's control surface as the call of my sound setting loop calls my name and says, 'Play, you must play'. Who was I to say no? :-)

So, only to mention in passing I forgot my camera as did Bradley, Chris and my hubby Don, the only photographic 'evidence' exists on Gary's cellphone camera. He said he could probably get around to uploading them in a week or so. I guess time is going to tell the tale. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly <---who can't believe she forget her camera at home. ;)

My hero. I got schooled by this girl. The most extreme bass man out there. Using an Alembic Bass to show the world what the Bass can do.

The Bass Brad sold me. The bass I bought 2 weeks later. (I saw the light.) A bass I will no longer play.

This was a seriously great time-- I'm sorta limited in my musical ecosystem (playing at church), and "playing out" was really great.

I'm thinking of having a casual jam at my house (Covington) sometime soon-- we could grill burgers, jam some, etc. Any interest?

Hi Guys. :-)

Bradley - Glad you enjoyed yourself at the Rumble. Amazing bass you have. :-)

As far as a get together, that sounds good to me, date and time dependent of course. I assume we'd be doing this on a Saturday? Let me know and I'll have my people get in touch with your people etc, etc. ;)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)
