August,22,23,24 2008 - Concert for BIG RED w/ Jefferson Airplane, Holy Modal Rounders, Country Joe McDonald, SuperTrout Clatsop County Fairgrounds, Astoria, Oregon Back in the 1960’s, the Dead, Quicksilver, Moby Grape, and many other bands had practice spaces in the old hangar at the defunct Sausalito Heliport. Big Red in Astoria was evolving into that kind of scene untill a storm damaged the building. Even a couple of albums had been recorded out there, and part of a feature film was shot there. Now, as old hippies, we are throwing the biggest goddamn party Oregon has seen in decades on August 22-23-24th, to raise money we cannot get from FEMA and Lloyds of London. Astoria is a beautiful place. We'll be playing there again, next time at the Liberty Theater. peace
