Translating:

"Would like to know how many fellow alembicist are living in Brazil. Could we do some beautiful gathering like these around here?

I'd like to know who lives around Sao Paulo like me. I remember my school mate Milreu, Ze Luis (Meteoro Amp's owner) and my pal Abidu, but I don't even know if they are in the Club... If you live around, present yourself!"

I know there are some great bassists here using Alembics like PJ, Liminha and other major acts I can´t "reach" or keep in touch, but would be nice if someday we could hang like our friends in US and Europe. Wouldn't?

According to the Google, there are six club members who list Brazil as their country.

NOW this would be a cool one to fly down to.

Mica if Alembic wants to have an official company presence at this, I volunteer. Hire me as a temp and send me down. I work cheap! :-)

Ops, I guess I missed this one while travelling. Brazil Gathering, oh yes!!!
Mario, I've been talking to Abidu about getting together to play. Lets all do it!
Now, an invitation to all of you non Brazilians. Whoever comes down here, gets to play my Series I. No questions asked!!! How about that?
Mica, if I may, it would be a good idea to do such thing down here. Very few people now Alembic here. Only the pros and the folks that do research....
They do tend to be much more expensive here than in the US... but again, everything is (Fender American Standard P-Bass = US$3000)... Lets get this thread going and organize something!!

I'm trying to find an old school buddy who had a S1, too. And I knew Meteoro's owner Zé Luis got one S2. I don't know him personaly but maybe he could be our sponsor on that (although I prefer my Ampeg to be honest).

Sou músico amador (just play!).

Hope not too late.. but... Brazil is pretty close to Venezuela... Would a Venezuelan Alembician be allowed in the party? :P If one of my dreams come true (Ed Motta hiring me as a bass player :P ) it would make that even easier.. :-)

Juan, you are not late. We paused this chapter for a while. Let's bring it back up again!
Of course you are welcome, we just need to set a gathering date/place.
As for Ed Motta, his current bass player, Robinho, is almost becoming an Alembician. He even borrowed my old Distillate for recording this video!

Mario, I've been talking to Abidu about making this a reality soon. He said he will contact you and Binho about us getting together somewhere. His friend has a Studio that we might go for a fun session, and then we might come here to my place so we can have a barbecue and take some pictures of the basses all together. We don't have a date yet, but it shouldn't be far... What do you say?
And if there is anyone else from the club that is thinking of coming to Brazil, this might be the time! You don't get a free Barbecue and beer everyday!!!

Greg
