I will be performing with the thirteen time Grammy Award Winning Jimmy Sturr Orchestra in Hamburg on New Years Eve. The event will be broadcast over the VI Satellite network throught Europe and the world, if you have a dish. The group is a ten piece Cajun flavored Polka Band. Now....Which Alembic Bass will I use? Perhaps this one! Happy New Year to all! ~David |

Brother David I should start withe the one you're holding. It's a VERY nive one indeed. That's an ebony neck??? Polka and Cajun??? Seems to be dancing time brothers. That means high-time for bass-players. Paul the bad one PS: dancing. Makes me think of the story that Jeff Berlin told. His FIRST payed asignment as a bass-player was in a live dance act in theatre. There was a bluesy/rock part were he really want to show of as a fres-from-school-dude and he syncopated the thing to death. The dancers appraoched the bandleader in panic: they couldn't find the beat anymore! HA!

Oooooopps! As it turns out...I'm at the rehearsal right now. It's in Hannover (not Hamburg) at the Messehalle 2. It will be broadcast from 19:15 to 23:59 GMT on December 31. The MC is Karl Moitk. The show is "Musikanten Stadl". It will feature Tony Marshall and Al Martino, among others. The network is ORF. The bass in the picture above is a Graphite neck series I. The bass I brought is a SC 6 string. If anyone records this, would ya let me know? I know it's five hours....you could be choose-y. ¨-David |
