keavin,

Nice action shot...

What song are you thumpin' out?

You remind me of Mr. Louis "Thunderthumbs" Johnson.

John (811952),

Are there any other pics of your bass?

Another angle of your band showing your bass?

Paul (palembic),

What's in your rig? Do you have a description of it elsewhere in the topics?

i have several in my photo albums i just have to dig up a good close-up of it.as far as my rig i'm running two BAG_END cabs each containing a 15 inch JBL woofers ,i really dig 15's over four 10s,mainly because there's more punch in a 15 & a wider tonal capacity in bigger drivers, and theyre powered by a randall RB1000 (300watt RMS)amp however i'm in the market for another more versatile amp and my JBL's are wired @ 4OHM's each as apposed to traditional 8 OHMs per cab.

keavin,

Yeah man, those posts were for you as well, thanks for the info. Sounds like you put out some serious low freq with your rig. I haven't ran 15" woofs since the black widows came out.

I may have to integrate at least one 15" to go with my 4x10 goliath. Let me know what amp you decide on.

Peace,
Darrell

Darrell,
I sent my brother an email asking if he has any pictures of me playing it anywhere. For a family full of professional artists, musicians and photographers, we don't seem to take very many pictures when we're not *working*! I need to suck it up and ask somebody to shoot some at my next gig (on the 15th I think).

Keavin,
A bass-thumpin' friend of mine would characterize that picture as "gettin' funky on the E.." It looks like you're having an awesome time..

I found these from a couple of outdoor gigs this past fall, including the aforepictured steel drum thing...

surreal
clueless smile

Neither of them really shows the lovely cocobolo at all, but such is life I suppose...

John,

That's more like it. I especially like the top pic, it has an artistic, sketch-like interpretation of an Alembicist in action. I can imagine what brilliance your bass' wood has, it's another beautiful legend.

Thanks,
Darrell

Darrell,
Thanks for the kind words. My daughter took the pictures, and I can only guess that a brief flash of light caught the bass at just the right angle to make it pop out like that while everything else blurred. She didn't have the patience to figure out how to work my camera in the dark. Serendipity... :-)

John,

Your daughter should have the top picture enlarged to 11 x 14 and transferred to canvass, get a custom frame to compliment the colors and make it a portrait.

Ah, good old #12! Keavin, you always look like you're having such a great time - I guess that's the Alembic effect :-)

Does #12 have an LED down by the XLR socket? Or is the LED on your cord? Or is it just a trick of the light? (cue John Entwistle . . .)

Nice hat, by the way!

Keep thumpin',

K.

Ah, I see, riding horses through the desert, hence the cowboy hat!

Man, I'm envious, it sounds idyllic - I'm stuck here in rainy and cold London UK, wishing I could catch even a glimpse of a desert. Or a horse, for that matter. Dirty grey city blocks all around. Bleurgh.

I'm sure the gigs will pick up again for you soon - just think of the downtime as more time to practise!

Did you check out the pic with me and Stanley?

Mike,
My wife and I are going to be up visiting family in St. Charles in a couple of weeks. You have any gigs in the area between the 19th and the 25th?
If I get a chance would like to stop by and give a listen.

Hi Keith,
The closest gig to that time frame for Noah is Thursday the 17th (St. Patricks Day) at One East Wilson in Batavia. If something else comes up, it will probably be on Noahs website:
www.noahgabriel.com
have a safe trip.

Yeah Keav, the original owner did a lot of slapping & Alembic suggested moving the front pup back a bit.... Europa electronics w/ dual J-pups~ a good cross-over bass for all the Fender / Sadowsky fans...
