Folks,

Anyone have a copy of the installation instructions for a 3 way Q-switch on an Essence? I got the switch today, but didn't get the instructions. My guess is it was just a simple oversight, no biggie, but rather than bother Mica for it (I know she's busier than a one-armed paperhanger!) if anyone can hook a brother up, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Alan

Wolf,

I think so. I see its for a SPDT (single pole, double throw) switch. Will this work with a three way Q? My guess is yet, but someone smarter than me needs to chime in .... ;-)

Thanks,

Alan, what is the contact description for the switch that you have ?
I noticed SPDT as well ____.
Perhaps the above instructions are for an older version ? I do not know what the current version is. The above is what I found on this site .

3 position would be similar, but probably uses either a 3 position (on-off-on) SPDT or possibly a DPDT on-on-on. Been a little too long since my days at the Mothership so I don't remember which.

Thanks , my thoughts were as per your description. I was just helping for the search. I am sure Mica will chime in and tell it like it really is ____

I just bought and installed one of these, lemme know if you want me to scan my instructions - they are a basically the same as the one linked above.

Oh, and I think the three position switch is on-on-on.

Ojo,

That would be great if you could scan and send them to me, or post a link to it! Thanks!

Adding the scan to the club knowledge base would be swell.

Sorry for the delay, I just emailed the instructions to you, Alan.

I've got to reduce the size of the pdf, and I'll upload it once I make it smaller.

Well ... got the 3 way Q-switch installed today ... my tech installed it backwards (all the way up for max boost) but, that's OK. It works, and I've got to say there is a HUGE difference in tonal possibilities. Anyone with an Essence or similarly equipped Alembic - spend the $60 and get this done. It is well worth it, trust me.

Alan,
I installed a 3 way on my Persuader. Best $60 spent on her. Also 3 way is the way to go. In fact I use the mid position more than the full boost.

Alan,

I installed mine the same way. Towards me for max Q, towards the floor for no boost. Once you start using it, it won't make a lick of difference.

Out of curiosity, do you notice that your tone has a bit more treble when you select either the 3 or 6 DB on the Q, and the filter is wide open?
