Hello Alembicians, I'm new to the forum. A Question to the setup of my basses. I just changed the strings of my two new Alembics ( Essence 5 & Orion 5 ). Now for my playing style the strings are to low. I think the bow of the fretboard is perfect ( if the string is pressed down aroud the 5th fret, there is still 0,5 - 0,7 mm space between string and fret at the 12th fret ), but if I play the basses a little harder, the strings rattle on the frets. I know how to adjust the neck, but when should I adjust the bridge or the nut ? Is anybody able to explain this procedure to me in easy words ( I'm from Germany.. ). Could this be a problem of the strings ( Alembic stainless steel ) ? They seem to be quite soft. On my Excel 5 I do play R.Cocco stainless steels. Thank you very much for your help. The next day I will post some photos of my Alembics, and the rest of my instruments... Kind regards, Chris |
