Hi. I'm looking for a 32" scale 5-string. My preference would be an '80s Spoiler, but the scale length is the crucial factor. Thanks for your help.

bass central has my tribute 5 string 32.
you ought to give them a call
its great sound and looks
it was made for me originally but there was an error on the work order and cam with a comfort taper instead of my personal neck dims.

Saw this over on talkbass.com. Lowered again to $2650. 5 string Distillate - 32" w/LEDs & flight case. Looks nice w/Coco bolo.

Thanks for the responses-i have been traveling, hence the delay in checking in.
I was thinking Spoiler or Persuader to keep the cost down, and to match the feel of my '83 Spoiler 5. That signature 'no taper' neck is also essential to me.
The distillate is gorgeous, but seems to have sold. The tribute is not on their website, but I'll give a call. Thanks again.

Sorry-typo. I have an '83 Spoiler 4, which i purchased new, as a beginner-my second bass. The finish is played off everywhere that i touch it, and I've actually worn divots wherever my thumb anchors, and around the selector switch. Some might gasp, but it is so well played that i find it beautiful. Still sounds great, mellowed a bit, and is wonderful in the studio-the last project went through a Pendulum Quartet, Neve 8232 console onto 2" tape. Beautiful.

No gasps here, David - to pay extra for a pre-damaged "Relic" strikes me as insane, but to buy new and play it into a genuine relic gives it major mojo.

Looks like a Persuader, but scale length isn't specified as far as I could see. Usually, they're 32", but I would verify before buying.

It appears to be 34", but might as well be 32". Difficult to tell with the long peghead on one end, and the thin pickups on the other.

Thanks for the heads up, folks.
I checked with the seller and it's a 35", so i didn't bid.

You guys are really on the ball!
peace,

Thank you to everyone who offered help with this search. I am happy to say that I was recently contacted because of this post and have purchased a beautiful '90 Persuader. The bass, so far seems great. Thanks to everyone.

Best Regards,
db
