Pictures are not showing, and the price is very low for a Signature Deluxe. This is seller's first item, and the only bidder has only ever bid on this item. |

I think that I saw this bass on another site for sale and I asked if was still available and for more information, such as serial number. I received no response to my inquiry. The language on the ebay add and the other site are very similar. I'm sorry I don't remember the other web site address. If this is real, I would definately bid on it. It has Paypal protection, but how good is that? |

Hi everyone, I just found the other listing that sounds like this bass. UsedGuitarSales.com http://www.usedguitarsales.com/page-1527.html The listing is as follows: Alembic Stanley Clark Signature Deluxe 4-String Bass Page Views: 2568 Date Added: 07/14/2008 Last Updated: 07/14/2008 Year: 2008 Make: Alembic Model: Stanley Clark Sig. Deluxe Price: 1150 Description: This bass was earmarked at the Factory as a "prize," and they said that it sounded unbelievable. This bass is a four string, right handed bass with a short scale neck, this means 30.75 inch scale length, and 1.5 at the nut. The bass has Neck-through body construction with two laminates of Purpleheart and three Maple laminates. The core is mahogany, and the front drop plates and rear drop plates are bookmatched sets of Coco Bolo. Each Stanley Clark Signature bass comes with two of the famous Alembic AXY 4 pickups with low frequency filter Q-switches(2), and master vol, two filter freq. knobs, one for each pickup, and a pan knob, and one toggle for the activation of the LEDs in red. The Alembic logo in brass is featured prominently on a coco bolo veneered headstock, front and back! Happy Bidding, and only serious questions for serious bidders please. You may look at other Alembic guitars at iconguitars.net This instrument comes with warranty and paperwork. Register online with Alembic when you get the Bass. More info and pictures by email. Thanks The name and info listed on the above add were as follows: Contact: Michael Carroll Address: 2118 Wilshire Blvd., #550 City: Santa Monica State: California Phone: 3105789553 |

Yo Adriaan, Sorry, too many Rockey movies. You must admit, the Ebay and Used Guitar Sales adds are very similar? Also, there does not seem to be enough time to even Call Mica to see if she knows anything about this item. Paul |

Your secret's safe with me - no Rockey movies in my past. Ads are near identical - somewhat suspicious. I'd contact Icon Guitars, since they appear to be the registered dealer in Massachusetts, and this could be either of the two that they list on their site. I should correct my earlier comment about the "only bidder" - there are four bidders on the e-bay auction. |

If its real, I'd take it. It would go nice with the Buckeye Burl Further that Mica just sent me. Sweeeet Guitar. And time will tell..... the other chapters of the story. Paul |

It sure looks a lot like the Stanley Clarke Deluxe at lower right on the Icon Guitars website. I also noticed that the e-bay sale says it is in Wausau, WI and the used guitar sales say it is in Santa Monica, CA. Not to mention it is listed at way too low of a price and appears to be a short duration auction. That along with the zero feedback makes me highly suspect that this is a scam. Keith |

Hmm, Stanley's name spelled wrong, the pics don't load today, and the fine print on insurance says UPS will cover up to $100. Wow! Effclef |

I see this kind of thing on eBay from time to time; some awesome item at a cheap price from a seller who just registered and has no feedback. Of course my instincts have told me to abstain and I have resisted. These auctions could be legitimate though. I notice a recent change in Paypal's buyer protection policy. It seems the full amount is now insured for certain items, which is the case here. It only used to be part of the sale price depending on seller experience. I believe there was a maximum of $2000. If you are seriously interested in this item, read the Paypal links about buyer protection, bid away and pay with Paypal. Before paying, I would contact the seller and ask for full contact information including phone number. You could call them. When you are comfortable, make a payment asap and follow up for the tracking number. If you get the tracking number, make sure it, or something is on the way to you. It should arrive within one week and you will have time to make a claim if need be. If you do not get the tracking number within a week, I would file a claim with Paypal right away. They encourage you to work out any problems yourselves, but you only have 45 days to file a claim. |

This wood is very distinctive. We've also seen it here, which is where I believe the bass currently resides. |

It sold for $3277.00. If this is for real, someone got a pretty good deal! Goop had some good suggestions which I hope the buyer is using. |

As far as paypal goes. I bought what turned out to be a counterfeit Frampton Les Paul off of eBay. I payed with paypal and funded my paypal account with a paypal credit card. It took about a month, but I did get my money back. I was only out about $70 to ship it back insured. The price was less than $2000. It turned out to be a good thing. A day or two later I was able to buy a Tribute off of craigslist. I would not have been able to afford it if the Les Paul had been real. I'd have to be crazy to want the Frampton Les Paul over the Tribute. Todd. |

Today the listing was removed by Ebay. Apparently, the buyer would not pay until they saw the photos. They were never sent and now the seller is no longer registered. Scam, scam, scam.....Gratefully, no one was injured. |
