I've just about seen all the basses on the club site and I haven't seen one Alembic with a bookmatched top to center pic. Any reason why?

Well you didn't look here I guess..

Rami's Dark Prince & Evil Twin Rogues are great examples of tops bookmatched to center.

Here's another bookmatched-to-center beauty: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/1780.html?1032534438

And another... http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/3092.html?1042859039

Steve-

Also, scroll back through the featured custom archive on the main Alembic site. There are several examples with a bookmatched to center top (and back in some cases).

Two I know right off the top of my head are January 2000 and June 2002. January '00 is The Dark and the Light (Coco Bolo) and June '02 is The Unicorn (Quilted Maple).

Wayne and Mica,

that's one of the surprises always on this board: I never link basses from the custom archive to people in this "room". So it never occured to me that the "Wayne" from the "Unicorn" (and as it's clear now also from the "Dark and the light")is that good-old brother "C-Ya........Wayne" ;-)
Man ...those guitars ARE beautiful!
That Unicorn really hit me because it's a very "staging" bass. She really have the looks and gets it straight from that striking wood-combination.
The "unicorn" inlay is also a piece of art!
Good dreaming Wayne!
Nice work Mica and Alembicians!

Thanks Paul!

I owe it all to UPS - if they hadn't cracked the neck on The Dark and the Light, then I wouldn't have been able to have the Unicorn built. Everything came together better than I could have ever imagined.

OK Wayne.
Tell me the secret, nobody can hear us here,
so if I break my bass ...I can have a beautiful second one?
It's magic....
It's Alembicious!
It confirms my suspicion that Mica and family don't make those beautiful guitars but (doh) actually BREED them.

LOL

I think you still have to pay for the new one Paul....

If "Evil Twin" hadn't cracked....I'd never have had the "Dark Prince" made. I was sort of in a similar situation as Wayne.

Wayne, you're basses really are spectacular!
