This is a great thread, and a great bass sywot...we should post the old "war horse" Alembics on this thread. Alembics not coddled in cases and studios, but brought out and gigged with over the years. No "showcase" pieces, but working Alembics. Here is a 1981 Series I...a true "war horse"... |

That is one beautiful bass Steve!! I'd love to see pics of the working Alembics."War Horse" is a little tired and worn to look at but plays and sounds like no other.I'm still as happy with mine as I'm sure you are with yours. |

Hey sywot...thanks!!! "Baby" is a beauty...old and used on a gazillion gigs. I have dabbled with the thought of a refin, but the thought of letting her grow old as she is always rules the roost. She has done a gazillion gigs, always performed, so like the old saying goes...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Let us see some other giggin' Alembics!!! The "War Horses"!!! |
