That is such an incredible collection of superb basses PierreYves You must be very proud to own them. Once you get to know them all personally it will be interesting to hear which one has the sound you prefer most. Jazzyvee |

I've got to say that the bass in the middle looks very much at home! |

I have to pick the cocobolo(?) Series shortscale/chrome hardware as a favorite of the bunch. I swear, Alembic's have only improved in more recent years!! |

We often hear around here "the pictures don't do it justice." I had the pleasure of meeting the cocobolo one, and know just how much more beautiful it is even than it looks here. I have to assume the same holds true for its companions, in which case.....oh my goodness gracious , what a pile of yummy! How can you possibly decide which one to play, Pierre-Yves? Peter |

I use mainly the blackwood with my band and the coco bolo one. My bass player (when I play tenor) use my SC signature deluxe (wich is not o the picture). If I play standard bass for others things, as Level 42, Marcus Miller etc. I use the MK's. The koa bass is for "museum" ! I used it before the blackwood. I must to say that Edwin's coco bolo give my preferate sound to play some Clarke's music in standard bass, not tried to change tuning. |

PierreYves, You have some Fine taste in Bass collection, they’re exquisite! The subtleties of each one, the strings to use on each?, the joy of remembering each for their uniqueness must be a joy! I agree this is an amazing collection of Alembic Basses. Personally I Love they are all 4 strings. Well done Sir! Pete |

I use what I have: my Alembic strings stock is close to finish, I use mainly d'Addario EXL 170. Thanks for your comment |

Perhaps the best personal Alembic collection I've seen. Although all of those basses are top notch and highly desirable, the blackwood is still The King, in my opinion. |

Yes my 04SC13386 was sold yesterday, it was a nice bass and now it's a friend's bass. I have some regret because it's my first "new age" Alembic. |
