Yes, I dropped the whole thing by a tone: A, C, E, D. That way, only one of the roots isn't an open string! In the original key, holding the root at the same time as the melody made for some insane stretches, and it was tricky to get the melody and chords flowing as well as they should, with all the leaping around the fretboard.
