So incredibly happy to have purchased this amazing bass from Matt. It is featured in an early 80s Vintage Guitar magazine (will post the article) and has so many early features that came and went. Scalloped nut, shorties bridge, inlaid headstock logo with the A free floating in the outer circle. Brass battery cover, hammered backplate, gain screws on the front and my favorite, the green pickups. The thinnest best feeling ebony fingerboard ever - plays wonderfully at insanely low action. Superb condition. Teak top looks like peanut butter as has been noted. More info to follow. Wolf, need 32 now should you tire! Thanks Wolf. I am fascinated by the tail pieces on yours and mine - 1 serial apart yet so different. Are you aware of any other earlier or later models with the tailpiece on yours? |

Suhweet! The really old ones are kind of special. The pickups don't look all that green to me - is it my computer monitor, your camera, or spell check? Bill, tgo (caretaker of Old #10) |

Hey Bill, as to color, I am color blind and the wrong person to ask for sure - have heard them called green, tan, beige - the photo is pretty much how they appear. I wear brown and think it's green and vice versa! |

Todd, I purchased an identical tail piece as the one on my 73-32 from Alembic at the old 60 Brady St. location in 1975 when I took in my Guild Starfire there to get a brass block with bridge and tail piece installed . There are pictures of that Bass on this site here; I still own it and will never sell it . That Bass was a gift from my Mother. . http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/84774.html?1425349805 I bellieve that 72-01 also has a similar tail piece. Wolf |

Wolf, you're the best. Man that Starfire is cool. Wonder how many other Alembic basses have that tailpiece. So is mine what is referred to as the mustache style? |

Hi Adam, the 2008 Stanley Sig Dlx was a custom build for Tom Blankenship of My Morning Jacket. Just recently acquired it. Here's the first song I played it out on 3 weeks back. More to follow. I love Steely Dan https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3WmFPoN0PdQ&feature=youtu.be |

Congratulations & Compliments! I love seeing these early instruments still in service, treasured and appreciated. * your tailpiece is like the one on #73-39, and a couple more instruments from about that same time... I suppose there may have been a couple options. I'm guessing the full 'moustache' must have been the next evolution of your type, but happy if not eager to be corrected.
