Here is my newly acquired '77 Series I 12 String. I've always thought of the Alembic Omega as female and the point as male, so I'm calling this one "Big Irv" after my dad who recently passed away. It plays amazingly - almost as easy as a 6 string!

Vital statistics:

LSG 12-string guitar

top and back: P. Walnut*
core: Mahogany
neck: Maple and Purpleheart, 25.5" long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl ovals
peghead veneers: Bocate and Walnut
originally made for: Rothchild
birthday: November 30, 1977

On December 5, 1977, Rothchild sent the guitar back to us to have LEDs installed.

On Augst 30, 1978, Rothchild sent the guitar in again to have the LEDs replaced. The 9th fret LED "goes out when the fingerboard is fretted at that postition. Please repair." We repaired under warranty.

*P. Walnut is probably for Peruvian Walnut, a true juglans Walnut from South America.

Bill, tgo

Sweet! That peghead is awesome! We should have taken a group picture of all the knobby pegheads... Oh well, next time!

Yes, that is one sweet looking guitar and full sounding as well, I'll wager. I imagine the Alembics 12,6 and Alembic bass all together in the studio make for a resounding mix!

Sorry about the passing of your Father, Bill.
