Thanks, Val. I bought the Series I 4-string bass that Gruhn Guitars in Nashville had and I have yet to find a serial number. I have been going through this section, looking at the pics and trying to match up the different elements of my bass with those pictured to try to get an idea of the year. Round battery cover, Schaller tuners, two oblong or kidney shaped electronics covers, black pickups with Alembic embossed, no gold; Logo and no 'Alembic' on peghead; selector switich on lower horn, etc. From another post I found that there should be a handwritten number under a pickup. There was, the number is '865'..I plan to take a few days off and post pics of the inside cavity, outside , numbers inside, etc. to see if we can get a cross match with any work orders. Anyway, I spend a lot of time at work and my off time is usually spent playing in some capacity. So, while I have been guilty of not posting pics of my Alembics, the Showcase has been pleasurable to look at and valuable in getting an idea of the era of my yet unidentified Series I bass. Thanks!
