Here's a photo of my series I. Somehow, one of my '67 Starfires snuck into the picture. I got the Series I from someone who was paying his son's college tuition, so he was a motivated seller. I have felt a little guilty ever since, but I think that he knew that it would go to a good home. Let me know if the color is weird. I just got a new monitor and I am not sure if it is calibrated quite right.

Well Edwin,

if I have to choose between those two it would be ....the Guild (easy saying for me, I have an Alembic already LOL).
No joking: I like both of them.
I have a Looooo-oooong "wish-list" on basses, there is only one more Alembic on it. One of them although is this "kind" of bass. An "original" will be unaffordable but I'll be very happy with a Epiphone "Jack Cassady" for instance.
BTW: No problems with the colors on this side of the pond!

Actually, I have another red Guild that I play much more often. I was inspired by the Alembicization of the Godfather and Mission Control, so I added Bartolini pickups and preamps and a Badass bridge. It can sound very much like those basses (and in fact, I managed to get both Phil and Jack to sign it!) but it also does a lot more. I used to have a third Starfire, but it was a 70s version with humbuckers and I had to pay the rent, so I sold it. I don't think I paid more than $400 for any of them, the deals are out there if you look carefully. The tragedy about the sunburst Starfire is that the headstock was broken off and repaired in a very clumsy way at some point. I guess that makes it a good candidate for headstock replacement by Alembic! I'll try to find a picture of the red bass and post that.

Edwin, It looks fantastic of course, It's a Series I. The color looks about the same as mine. The grain on yours flares in towards the neck where as mine flares out from the bottom, But they are related. Maybe first cousins.

I'll also be sure to post some of the photos in action. A friend took some pictures on the last tour that look great but the disc he burned for me didn't work out.
I included a close up of the rear of the omega. I love the wood and how it worked out!

Batteries? BATTERIES???? We don't need no stinkin' batteries!

Seriously, though, I decided that since I never use batteries, I would just have them fill in the box to do the omega. I really like the way it turned out. The piece of macassar ebony is one of my all time favorites.

Eddie; you may want to post a serial number request in the serial number request section of the board.

Look at the thred on series I/Flash's Kids. you'll see a bad pic there. I'm sending better pics later.
I'll bet your right, because my headstock front is Bocote and the back is zebra. The look real close.
