This is Clyde. We met on Ebay a few years ago. Mica gave me this info on the build. 86P3842 PMB4 Persuader bass top: Walnut body: Mahogany through body neck: 3-piece Maple, 32" medium scale fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid oval inlays pickups: 2 Alembic JZ controls: volume x2, filter, mono output birthday: January 7, 1986 originally made for: Sound City The original owner was in Louisiana. It was registered to a second owner in TX in 2004. I got it from a guy in Idaho in 2007, and it now resides in Virginia. Somewhere along the way someone removed a volume pot and added a blend knob. it has the that Alembic sound All kidding aside, I had a Fender Jazz and this is not even in the same catagory. Depending on the blend and filter it has a wide array of sounds like all Alembics. The only drawback I would say is having a narrower magnetic field your a bit limited, but on the positive side having 2 jz's is more balanced than a p and j with the p much hotter. I use flats so it does help with that jazz sound when I'm looking for that. It would be fun to have this bass fretless. I have an old 371 Acoustic setup, and I can only think of Jaco on steriods. |

OMG...we have another Alembician in Front Royal...me, Howard, now Shae! What are the odds of that..? Nice looking Persuader Shae...I love that body with the crown headstock. Not unlike my former frettless Spoiler, which can be seen at http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/3653.html?1141066721. Welcome to the club! |
