Amen to that,Sam and Bill,

I'd been checking out the Alembic Club for over a year before registering and I loved the bizarre and often hilarious left turns a particular thread could take. The page with the cat pics is a classic example.

Less than 1 month on from registering and my suggestion about cleaning strings in a dishwasher has been seized upon and has triggered opinions on,of all things, methods of cooking a Salmon!.Fantastic!.I feel truly accepted!.

I'd like to wish all of you,and your loved ones,a very Happy Christmas, and good luck and good health in the year to come.

2005 has been a year I'll never forget.Sadly not for the right reasons and I'll be glad of a new year.Being part of this forum has helped lift my spirits more than I could explain and for that I'm grateful to you all.

God Bless,

Take Care,

Keep Playing,

Miss you,Ma!.

Thanks Guys,

Simon.

I'll mirror what Simon and Joey said. This is a great club to be in, lots of humor, great knowledge and insight about basses and gear, and a truly respectful family of great people.
I would like to acknowledge this year's addition of Dave Houck as a moderator. Dave, you've always added a lot to the topics posted here. The additional things you've done for the club this year are greatly appreciated. You have done a lot to organize the club threads so that it is easier to find the topics that interest us. That way we can more quickly get back to making music with our Alembics.
Happy Holidays to you all.

No, my holidays were a bit different this year, but I'm hoping a KLR will fit in my Easter Basket!

Incidentally, I saw a 'drag' race between a KLR and a GS BMW on a dirt road, and there really is no substitute for cubic inches: The big BMW got sideways real quick and threw the guy over the tank, squashing one of his aluminum panniers when it went over on that side. The KLR guy turned around and came back and it was all the two of them could do to stand The Bismarck back up on two wheels !

I'd like to add my deep thanks to Dave, who' s not just a great moderator, but the BEST moderator around, on this site or any other I've been to.
And to all of you who tried to drive me crazy this year...nice try, but I was already there. :-)

Best wishes and a Happy Holiday to all!!!

I second Val's praise for our moderator Dave. I find his ability to locate all the requested information amazing. Thanks again Dave for all your help!

I also want to thank Val for all his help on my new bass. It arrived last night and it is truly amazing! Val did more than just give me his opinion, he helped me get all the final details correct. He's a true gentleman.

Best Wishes,
Pete

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all in the Alembic family! I hope everyone has the chance to enjoy family friends and may Santa stick a new Alembic under your tree or an old Alembic for that matter!

Dear Alembicians,

being member of this incredibly great community for nine months now, I have been given so much support, understanding, awareness and help from all of you on my tiny little problems, questions, and reports. I hope I already rewarded that a little bit and I will continue to. Thank you so much.

Merry Christmas everybody and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2006. Many greetings also from Peggy :-)

It's funny, Rory mentioned getting an OLD Alembic under the tree. What else in the world is there (that can still be had new) that is absolutely perfectly acceptable and desireable to acquire used? Even beat-up? Missing parts? ..An Alembic of course!

And as for Mod Dave, you really are the best mod I've seen on the net. You also seem to have the right answers to pretty much everything, which I find way cool.

And as for Val, Mica, Susan, Ron, and really everybody who posts here, you folks enrich my life and remind me why it's worth the hassle to play music and live right. I am proud to be one of you!

Happy Festivus! And now for the Airing of the Grievances... :-)

To all who have shared kind words and showed support over the years, I thank you for your passion and dedication to this company. It is like a large slighty askew family. (not unlike the one in Meaning of Life where children have to be sold off for medical experiments)
To those who have been kind and supportive to me personally, I thank you most sincerely.
To those of you who have purchased my album Down Below, thanks for helping me in my dreams becoming reality. The DOOMTREE boyz are crafting a second album and there will be some guest producers with very impressive resumes.
Here is to our collective health, wealth, joy, success, and realization of dreams in the coming year. Now to get me an Alembic geetar!

Oye indeed! The other night my wife and I went to get the final presents for our (almost) 11 year old. (A jewboy like me xmas shopping? It's what happens when the perfect woman - a.k.a. "the wife" - happens to be Italian) As we approached the toy store, I noticed that not all the lights in the sign were working. As we parked at "oys are us", I turned to Tina and told her "this must be where we buy the Channukah presents!"

Ditto to all the sentiments expressed above. I love this club and all of its denizens. Much appreciation to all those who keep things up and running smoothly, not only the elves in Santa Rosa, but honorary Alembic guy Dave the Moder too. A very healthy and happy holiday and new year to all.

Bill, tgo
